An exceptional concert
Neil Young solo was excellent. His voice hasn't changed much over the years. His set list was comprised of a nice balance of old and new material and popular songs and deep tracks. He played a variety of instruments and told some great stories. Neil handled the rowdies in the crowd with dignity and grace. Overall, it was a superb concert in an intimate setting.

WIsh the drunk guys would have shut up
We were excited to see Neil play by himself in an acoustic setting. Unfortunately, there were a couple unruly guys who kept shouting out and distracting Neil. This led him to change his set list and avoid talking to the rest of us. There should have been some way to quiet these guys or kick them put

Loud mouth
This was suppose to be an intimate night with Neil Young, I saw him over 20 years ago at the Fox it was fantastic, best show ever. Not the case this time ONE guy shouted all night long. While security did nothing after many complaints they were only worried about people taking picture. Unbelievable one person could ruin a show for everyone.

Neil Young was definitely a one man show!
The show was outstanding, and you couldn't find a nicer theater.

Neil was great. Hecklers stay home.
Neil sounded amazing. This was the one and only time I will ever have the opportunity to see this living legend in such an amazing historical theatre. Bottom line: the entire experience was ruined by an egotistical audience that would not stop heckling Neil throughout the entire performance. Shame on you Detroit. Your behavior was disrespectful and embarrassing.

Neil Young was excellent
My wife and I attended the Neil Young Solo concert at the beautiful Fox Theater in Detroit and we really enjoyed the show. I did not know that there was an opening act, it would be nice if Ticketmaster or the Fox Theater would let us know this in advance. I expected Neil to be starting at 8:00pm but he did not start till after 9:00. The Fox security staff was giving people a hard time about taking pictures or videos at the venue, at one point during an acoustic performance a security guy got in a shouting match with an audience member who was taking a picture, very unprofessional and disruptive. Some of the audience was shouting out during the performance and Neil was not very happy about it and rightfully so. If your at a loud metal or rock concert then all bets are off, but this was mostly an acoustic show so the loud idiots hollering during the show was annoying. All this did not take away from Neil Young's superb performance of some great songs. After The Gold Rush and Pleasant Valley Boulevard were two of my favorites, but they were all great.

Long May You Run, Neil Young
Neil Young gave an amazing solo performance at the Fox Theatre July 3, moving to various pianos, organs and guitars for an assortment of tunes from his long, brilliant career. Highlights included a grungy electric rendition of "Ohio," and passionate performances of "Cowgirl in the Sand," "After the Gold Rush" and "Tonight's the Night." Between tunes, as he wandered about the stage, he related old stories about Detroit, his music and his life. Great show! Long may you run, Neil Young.

Neil Young still had what it takes!
I flew from Florida to Detroit to see Neil Young. What a beautiful venue to feature such an iconic star. If you were there to see all of his greatest hits that didn’t happen, because we would have been there for days, which would have been ok with me. He is a great story teller, but unfortunately it was hard to hear him over some very rude people in the audience. They were very disruptive throughout the entire concert. That was the only issue we had but it was a big one. Neil is such an amazing entertainer and does not deserve the disrespect from unruly drunks! His set selection was great but there were songs I would have enjoyed that he didn’t play, but as I stated, he can’t do them all. It was a wonderful evening overall!

Neil Young's solo set in Detroit was amazing.
Fox Theatre in Detroit is a great place for a live show, sonically and visually. Neil was at the top of my list of musical acts to see and it was worth the 7 hour roundtrip to hear him. He played so many instruments and it was a very intimate performance that I will never forget.

Neil was marvelous!
Played a lot of his old songs from the 70's as well as some newer ones. Was so great to hear him solo. This was the 6th time I have seen one of his concerts and it was very, very good!
NEIL YOUNG IN CONCERT:
Singer-songwriter legend Neil Young thrilled fans in 2013 with the announcement of North American and European tour dates alongside his longtime collaborative band Crazy Horse. Among the highly-coveted 2014 dates are four nights at Carnegie Hall as well as a series of “Honor of Treaties” benefit concerts with Diana Krall to aid the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Legal Defense Fund.
“Neil Young and Crazy Horse play like the rock and roll legends that they are. Truly a great show reminiscent of the classics from the early days.”
“They weren't going through the motions, they were making them. Improvising, jamming, messing up, laughing, only in the way Neil and the Horse can. They were so tightly tuned in to one another and sounded great, but the best part was that they seemed happy to be there, happy to perform.”
“Neil is a genius! After all these years, he still rocks and puts on a great show!”
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Since the late '60s, Young has released over 35 studio albums, exploring such diverse genres as country-folk, pop, noise, punk, and electronica. He’s best known, however, for his iconic folk rock songwriting, popularized by his hugely successful collaborations with Crazy Horse and supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Never content to rest on his laurels, Young has remained musically prolific and sonically experimental, earning rave reviews for his 2012 double-LP release Psychedelic Pill.
