Moderate which is unusual for Beck
We have seen Beck numerous times going back to the Sea Change tour. Friday night was probably the least compelling of his concerts. He came on relatively late at 9:20 and the acoustic portion of the show was a 10/15 minute ramble where he promised Morning Phase but couldn't remember lyrics and generally talked. It seemed like fill or the arrival of Beck the Entertainer cant ever say that I have been disappointed by a Beck show, but Friday night I was.

This was where it was at!
This was my first time seeing Beck in Detroit in 24 years, last time was at the Science Center. The sound was awesome, and it was a super great treat hearing a lot little, fun twists on some of his classics, and he played a handful of sweet deep cuts, too. His band and backing singers were pretty amazing, too. Check this tour out if you get a chance, it's not to be missed!

BECK was everything you’d expect ... and more!
Here’s the scoop fellow BECK fans, if you dig what he lays down in his vids, you’ll dig the live show! To sum it up real quick, if you are into sitting in your seat, this is not the show for you. Lights - stage set-up and sound was TOP NOTCH, total class. Started the night with “Devils Haircut” and ended the night with a long set rendition of “Where it’s at” with “One foot in the grave” in-between and there was loads of song sampling throughout the show (very BECK). Although there was a long wait between the opening act and BECK, he didn’t fail to make The Fox a huge “Friday night dance party”! We even had to time to hear BECK roll solo with his acoustic were took requests from the audience. BECK wants you to be 100% into being right there with him as he “goes with the flow” of the night and feeds off the energy of the crowd. He’d make great comments like, “Ok, now I think we are all alone now”, and he’d get on with playing a beautiful solo. All in, if you missed this show, you need to fix that in your life! Get some COLORS in your life STAT!

Entertainer Extraordinaire
My first time seeing Beck, what a Blast! The background light show/graphics blended so well with the music, that it actually was mesmerizing. He did an acoustic set and really got intimate with the audience. I've always heard this was a great show to see, and Beck with all the musicians and singers delivered. Tons of fun and rounded out the Holiday week!

Eclectic in the best way
Beck dug deep for this set list! He was entertaining, funny, and of course super talented. The band was awesome as was the lightshow and atmosphere. I only really know his hits, but this show has made me want to dig through his catalog

BECK IN CONCERT:
Alt-rock icon and master of reinvention Beck made a return to form of sorts in 2014 with Morning Phase, a companion album to 2002's beloved Sea Change. Eschewing the irony and sampling featured prominently in many of his other outings, Beck's latest is awash with earnest optimism and acoustic instrumentation — the result is a lush, organic, emotionally charged tour de force that comes across as beautifully in live concert as it does on record. Backed by a full band, Beck hits the road in 2014 for the Morning Phase tour, which includes a much-anticipated appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Beck moved to New York in 1989 and cut his teeth in the city's anti-folk scene before returning to Los Angeles in 1991. In 1993, his limited-release single "Loser" became a surprise college radio favorite, eventually growing into a mainstream Top 10 hit and garnering him a flood of label offers. Signing with Geffen Records, he released Mellow Gold in 1994, launching to both critical and commercial success virtually overnight. 1996 follow-up Odelay would prove even more successful, spawning three hit singles and taking home several Grammys, including Best Alternative Music Album. In the ensuing years, Beck's creativity and fearless experimentation have made him one of pop music's most idiosyncratic talents — the acclaimed 2014 release of Morning Phase, his twelfth studio album, proved that he's just as vital today as he was 20 years ago.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Beck was ridiculously amazing. If you get a chance to catch him live, do it while you can. He is a true showman and should not be missed."
"As usual Beck put on an amazing performance. He played a few songs from each album (including the reader), and he played every last one spectacularly."
"He plays a mix of his old & new material, both acoustic & electric, he breaks out the harmonica, then plays a cover of Billie Jean. What!?! I only wish it could have gone on all night long."
