California-based rock band Strawberry Girls are known for their killer instrumentals and intense progressive sound, often changing things up with guest vocalists and experimental beats.
Strawberry Girls formed in Salinas, California in 2011, following guitarist Zachary Garren's departure from the band Dance Gavin Dance. Initially composed solely of Garren and drummer Ben Rosett, the pair released the 2011 Demos EP together. Shortly after, the duo became a trio with the addition of bassist Ian Jennings, and the band released their Italian Ghosts EP. The name Strawberry Girls was inspired by a verse in the song "Christine" by Siouxsie and the Banshees.
The trio of multi-instrumentalists have released five studio albums: French Ghetto (2013), American Graffiti (2015), Italian Ghosts (2017), Tasmanian Glow (2019) and Prussian Gloom (2022). Strawberry Girls also headed out on tour in 2023, performing concerts across the United States and making festival appearances.
