Matt Ox on Tour
Teenage rapper Matt Ox, whose real name is Matthew Grau, began rapping when he was just 11 years old. His single, "Overwhelming," which he recorded at the age of 12, has received 31 million YouTube views and counting. He released his debut album, OX, in 2018, featuring guest spots by famed rappers Chief Keef, Key! and Valee, at the age of 14.
Known for blending dark trap, rap and horrorcore, as well as his liberal use of autotune, the young rapper caught the attention of Warner Records, which released several of his early singles, and later Motown, which released OX. Now an independent artist, Matt Ox put out his sophomore album, Year of the Ox, on his own label, OX Entertainment Group, in 2022. Ox employed an unusual roll-out approach, releasing a new song every day in January 2022 via his SoundCloud and YouTube channels, until the entire 31-track album was available at the end of the month.
With ambitious plans to go platinum, grow his fanbase and collaborate with more high-profile artists, Matt Ox heads out on tour in support of Year of the Ox. Don't miss the chance to see this dynamic performer live.
Matt Ox Live in Concert
Matt Ox was born and raised in Lawncrest, a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia. Musically ambitious from a very young age, he began pursuing a hip-hop career at the age of 11. Influenced by artists including Soulja Boy and Lil B, he broke out with his 2017 single, "Overwhelming," when he was just 12.
The gifted rhymer has collaborated with several notable rappers, and established his own label, OX Entertainment Group, after parting ways with major labels.
His 2022 album, Year of the Ox, sees him pushing boundaries and exploring new themes and sounds. On the first track, "Genesis," he raps about his goals for the year and goads on other artists to keep up with him, repeatedly declaring "Let it begin!"
Achieving a high level of success and exhibiting a confident swagger at such a young age, there's clearly much more in store for Matt Ox in the years to come.
