Didn’t really know much about LSD until I saw them play live. The lead singer’s voice- UNBELIEVABLE! Sound was terrific for an outdoor venue and the band was fabulous. Totally impressed and now a fan :)

Just an amazing show...
It was a beautiful July night on the Fore River in Portland. Thompson's Point is a great place to a show (though I think they need to better manage the whole "it's OK to bring a chair" plan, after lugging my chair for about 3/4 of a mile, only to be told I couldn't bring it in...but we dealt with it).
The lines for the food trucks were long, but the lines for a beer were not, which in the long run was just fine. We managed to find a great place to stand and enjoy the show. Lake Street Dive was absolutely fantastic, and while Rachael Price gets a lot of attention - and rightfully so - the band itself is tight, and a pleasure to listen to. With the blend of vocals and instrumentals, the evening was one of the best I have ever experienced in my 56 years. The selection of tunes was a nice blend and well balanced between old, new, with a ballad cover of Michael Jackson's "I Want You Back" thrown in for good measure.
Just a great show. I cannot wait to see them again.

Beautiful Night with Lake Street Dive
This is the 5th time I have seen LSD and they are getting very popular. The first 4 times were much smaller venues and the shows were AWESOME! The price you pay for being popular is more people want to be part of it. Thompson Point is an amazing venue right on the water under the stars. The show was high energy and fun. Great to hear her sing the new songs from the new CD. (Nice touch - everyone who bought a ticket got a CD in the mail before the show).
All in all a great night but I wish they weren't so popular yet!

Lake Street Dive @ Thompson's Point
I thoroughly enjoyed both bands' performance. The issue of parking at Thompson's Point takes away from the evening.
Bio
LAKE STREET DIVE:
Hailed by Rolling Stone as the year's "best new band" upon the 2014 release of album Bad Self Portraits, Lake Street Dive have made a big impression with their creative brand of soul pop. Anchored by the honey-toned vocals of conservatory-trained frontwoman Rachel Price, the band's breezy, indie-inflected tunes are nothing if not confident, reflecting the training and virtuoso musicianship of the band's talented members. Lake Street Dive impressed the pants off of Ellen Degeneres performing live on her show in 2014, building excitement among fans for their upcoming tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in 2004 by a group of students at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music, Lake Street Dive started out as a country act before settling on the jazz-inspired soul pop they're known for today. They self-released their 2006 debut album In This Episode... with the winnings they took home from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, self-releasing sophomore album Promises, Promises the following year. In 2010, they signed with Signature Sounds Recordings for their self-titled third album, a strong collection of songs that hinted at the heaps of praise their sixth album Bad Self Portraits would receive upon its early-2014 release.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Lake Street Dive put on an amazing show! The lead singer's voice is unbelievable and the band as a whole is fantastic. Lots of energy, great interaction with the crowd."

"They sound great live! The musicians and the vocalist are extremely talented and they play well together. Eclectic mix of styles is fun."
