Jon Langston in Concert
Onstage, Jon Langston is all about communicating with an audience as directly as possible, keeping it country in the best possible way. Langston doesn't put on any airs when he's performing — he neither takes a star trip nor tries too hard to show you his down-home bona fides. He simply stands up there and belts it out, letting his pure, unvarnished country soul speak for itself.
Langston's voice is a deep, rich instrument as big as all outdoors, and he knows just how to deploy it. Whether he's delivering his breakthrough Top 40 Country hit "When It Comes to Loving You" or any of his other tunes, Langston takes a no-nonsense approach to performing. He dips deeply into his own artistic reservoir and sends the results straight out to the audience without trying to dress anything up. It's the way the best country singers have been doing it for generations, and it's a practice that still serves somebody like Langston well.
Jon Langston Background
Jon Langston is a classic example of an artist who achieved success the old-fashioned way: pulling himself up by his bootstraps. Born in Georgia in 1991, he kicked off his career in country music in the 2010s, slogging it out as opening act and releasing his debut EP, Runnin' on Sunshine, on his own in 2013.
His follow-up, the 2015 EP Showtime, was an indie release, but nevertheless made it onto the country charts as well as Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Langston's self-titled third EP arrived later that same year and reached even higher on both of the aforementioned charts, making it clear that the young singer had some serious staying power.
When he scored his first hit single in 2017 with "Right Girl Wrong Time," that fact became clearer still. The thing that really kicked Langston's career up to the next level, though, was the arrival of his single "When It Comes to Loving You" in 2018. The tune broke through to the country Top 40 and led to the Georgia boy being snapped up by EMI Nashville, with even bigger things in store.
