Country singer John Michael Montgomery has been treating fans to his earnest, heartfelt music for over 20 years. With 18 million albums sold and 15 No. 1 singles, Montgomery has established a style rooted in his impassioned delivery, wonderful storytelling and rich baritone voice. A ticket to a Montgomery concert is like a chance to reconnect with an old friend. The singer tells stories and plays songs that span his entire career, from early hits like his 1993 crossover success, “I Swear,” through more recent tracks, like "Forever" and "Mad Cowboy Disease" off his 2008 album, Time Flies. He even throws in some more recent work, like his 2013 collaboration with Colt Ford, Ride Through The Country, which also featured Ronnie Dunn and Joe Diffie.
Montgomery’s career started back in the early 1990s, playing dive bars in his hometown of Danville, Kentucky, until the day Nashville came calling. With the release of his 1992 debut album, Life’s A Dance, Montgomery immediately rocketed into country superstardom, with a No. 1 hit, “I Love the Way You Love Me," which a considered a timeless country classic. He followed it up with "I Swear" and the whimsical "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)," which were the Billboard Country Singles Of The Year for 1994 and 1995, respectively. Montgomery also showed his serious side with powerful numbers like "The Little Girl," a song he wrote for his daughter, and 2004’s "Letters From Home," his tribute to the troops, featuring actual recordings of soldiers' messages to their families. Recent years have seen Montgomery slow down a bit, but he will be going on tour throughout the US in 2014 and has recently announced that new music is on its way.
