Stanning Janelle Monae forever
So much energy! Literally once she hit the stage I never stopped dancing or singing! She was so amazing live, feeling so blessed for even being in the same place as her. She’s really worth seeing live

One of the most amazing shows I have seen in my life. Truly an all inclusive event! The staff at the Chicago theatre was really good, kind and pleasant.

Janelle Monáe is the present and future of music!!
Janelle Monáe’s concert was fabulous. I have been going to concerts since 1972 and this concert is in my top five concerts of all-time. She has a command of the stage. The stage was all white with the all the musicians in white. She kept the audience mesmerized through out the show. I definitely recommend you checking out her show if you have the opportunity!!!

Truly Phenomenal!
Everything about the show was perfect. Janelle is amazing. One of the best concerts I've been to in awhile. Crowd was enthusiastic, joyful, and friendly. Even opening act was great, set the mood.

Pure perfection
The show was absolutely perfect! Janelle is an incredible performer, and every single detail of the show was amazing. The whole audience was dancing and from the moment I stepped in the theater the atmosphere was beautiful and so positive. The best concert I’ve been to.

TALENTED, ICONIC, BEAUTIFUL!
I have only been a fan since Janelle's Sonos commerical. But when I first saw her, I knew she was special. I knew she was unique. I knew she was worthwhile. I spent hours that day searching for her and looking up her videos and finding out anything I could about her. I was in love with her style, her voice, her message, and her dancing. It was all so different and strange in the sense that it wasn't sexualized and overtly preachy. She is mysterious in ways that confound me and I find it intoxicating. Fast forward to July 5th at the Chicago Theatre. Im 120 pounds lighter since November 16th, 2017 and I'm happy, buoyant, and excited to have gotten tickets to her sold out show. For the first time since I was a teenager, I was able to stand the entire show...and I DANCED. I boogied. I cut-up and got down. But even if I wanted to sit down, I couldn't. Janelle commanded my movements. She required that I dance to every song. Her energy couldn't be contained and poured over everyone in the audience, forcing them to comply. I was under her spell for two hours. I was euphoric. Her message was clear: love who you want to love and don't let anyone stop you. Raise up your sister and straighten her crown when it's crooked. And the most important message: we are all PYNK on the inside. But she expressed her messages without being condescending or trite. She was inclusive. She was sincere. And it all came across in her music, as it always has. It was a special show. I don't know what else to call it. It was inspirational. She will be celebrated like she deserves on the heels of this album and tour. The logistics are just as impressive. She celebrated women in her band, in her dancers, and in her opening act, St. Beauty (which is another amazing review waiting to be written). The set was simple. The imagery used throughout the show was entertaining without detracting from the music or Janelle herself. And I don't know who else saw this, but she wore a Raspberry Beret in homage (I assume) to her mentor, Prince. She paid homage to Janet Jackson through her militaristic costumes and dancing. The entirety of her show was sublime and invigorating, and one that I'm sure to not forget anytime soon.

Made Me Love Her More!
I was already pretty much in love with Janelle Monae but this concert nudged me past that. It was an excellent show, well worth the money (no matter how much you paid). I loved every minute. I hope she comes back to the Chicago Theatre for another show.

Janelle Monae is so great to her fans.
Honestly going to the Dirty Computer tour was the best gift to myself, ever. Ever since hearing her rehearse at the taste like 5 years ago for a show I begrudgingly didn't have tickets to, I knew I had to see her live. With my college graduation coming up, on a whim I got two tickets during the chase presale as a gift to celebrate all of my accomplishments over the course of four years in college, and decided I'd bring a friend for free just so that I wasn't going by myself. I immediately knew it was a great choice because ticket holders were provided with not one but two digital downloads of Dirty Computer. One for myself and a friend, which I gifted to someone who had a birthday on the same day. I spent the next few months listening to the album daily and watching the Dirty Computer emotion picture, preparing myself for the concert. Being a broke recent college grad with only a part-time summer job, I was also contemplating back and forth whether I should resale my ticket or go to the concert because I knew I still had to travel to Champaign and had no idea where I was going to sleep back in Chicago because my family was also struggling with a house full of people. Then I made the Dean's List for a 4.0 in my last semester of college and decided I HAD to do something nice for myself since I hadn't truly celebrated anything graduation related. So, I went. Janelle Monae was truly worth waiting 5+ years to see and she did not disappoint. I couldn't have chosen a better celebration of my accomplishments. She really puts on a show. Did I mention she did a surprise meet and greet after the show and I got a picture? Would recommend 10/10. Oh, and her opening act, St. Beauty, was magical. I only wish there weren't so many people still getting to their seats during the performance because I was actually trying to see them.

SHES AMAZING AMAZINGLY AWESOME! FANTASTIC ARTIST!!
With the 2013 release of her genre-spanning second album The Electric Lady, Janelle Monae took her already-experimental funk sound to the next level, incorporating elements of jazz, gospel, and even pop-punk to dazzling effect. Bolstered by hit singles "Q.U.E.E.N. (feat. Erykah Badu)" and "Prime Time (feat. Miguel)," the album landed at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and served as fertile material for her ever-evolving live concerts. Revered by ticket buyers for her creativity and showmanship, Monae had fans dancing from start to finish at her energetic 2013 shows. Discovered by Diddy and signed to Bad Boy Records in 2006, Monae released several EPs before making her full-length debut in 2010 with concept album The ArchAndroid. Aesthetically, Monae is known for her modelesque looks and androgynous style, and is rarely seen without her signature pompadour and tuxedo. Though she only stands at 5', her concerts are known to have giant ambitions, earning her a reputation as one of the most entertaining acts in contemporary pop music.
