HIGHASAKITE IN CONCERT:
Norwegian indie pop outfit Highasakite has topped the album charts in their native country twice since 2014, and the rest of the world is catching on thanks to the band's killer live shows. In concert Highasakite painstakingly recreates synth-soaked electropop gems like "Golden Ticket" and "Someone Who'll Get It" note for note with live keys, drums, horn, and triggered samples, and the result is a powerful live experiences that goes beyond studio slickness to deliver something raw and passionate. The band is razor-sharp, but the star of the show is always frontwoman Ingrid Havik, a commanding lead whose powerful voice, evocative lyrics, and striking style are the focal point of the group's otherworldly shows. Highasakite's futuristic sound is as glacial and majestic as its Scandinavian origins, and fans won't want to miss the chance to experience their ethereal, immersive music in the flesh.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Highasakite was formed in 2011 by a group of students studying at Norway's Trondheim Jazz Conservatory. They spent six months honing their sound and writing songs together, and in early 2012 they released their debut album All That Floats Will Rain to critical acclaim and a Top 20 spot on the Norwegian charts. After touring the U.S. in 2013, their rise continued in 2014 with their sophomore album Silent Treatment. The record was a smash success, peaking at No. 1 in Norway and earning them two Spellemannprisen Awards (Norwegian Grammys) including Best Pop Band. They repeated the feat in 2016 with their third album Camp Echo, another Norwegian chart-topper that also cracked the Top 40 in Australia. With a growing international fanbase and plenty of new material at the ready, Highasakite are set to stun at their upcoming shows.
