Essence Fest 2018

This was my first time back in two years. I was Slightly disappointed that the lineup wasn’t as consistent as my last time there. Normally i can Arrive early and watch the entire mainstage. This year, i left My seat a few times just to walk around. The sound system made the music overpower the artists’ voices. The concession stands had a limited variety of food. Upon entry, there was no real organization with security. Overall, i had A good time between the shows, convention center and mingling with the locals. I’m already planning my trip back next year.

Essence 2018

Essence 2018 was great as usual except Janet Jackson was a disappointment .

Great variety of performers! Nice venue. Janet was phenomenal as always

Terrible Sound

The star line up was great but Mercedes Stadium was terrible. I believe for it to be Essence fest, a name that has such a high reputation, that Mercedes terrible sound system and incompetent stage helps were not efficient enough to handle it. We paid to hear the performance but constantly it was impossible. The mics went out, the sound was muffled, and the performer's volume would range high to low on the same song from the bad system. It was so bad Essence really needs to consider a new location.

Fantasia

Fantasia should have been the headliner. Fantasia was head and heels better than Janet Jackson and the of the night by a long shot.

Epic

Had a great time at the Essence Festival! Can’t wait until next year.

Essence was Excellent!!

Had a great time on Sunday. Teddy Riley was amazing. Ashanti was great. Fantasia was dynamic. Janet was cool. My only criticism was that the sound guys need to be reprimanded or re-educated. There were several sound issues that sullied an otherwise magnificent night.

As usual Essencefest was exceptional. The venue is excellent with a great sound system with video to match. The crowds were managed professionally. Each one of the acts were outstanding.

Essence Festival

The Festival was great. The concerts and performances were fantastic. The venue had plenty of bathrooms, concession stands, and screens. The only drawback was that on Sunday night, the sound system kept coming in and out, eventually it was corrected.
