The Roots with Erikha Badu and Jill Scott was awesome. The overall concert was good. However the sound system sucked and definitely needs improvement.

Sunday Night concert

All the perfomers were great when you could hear what was going on. The sound system was horrible!!! Mics were going out, sqeeky noises through performances. I don't know if any sound check was done prior to the show. I've seen on some facebook groups that this was happening all weekend. I feel like I didn't get what I paid for because the sound was ridiculous. The venue was nice but the design for the first row in the 200 sections with the bar blocking your direct shot was not a good idea. Had to either sit up all the way or slouch to see either under the bar or above it.

xscape was everything!!!

Seeing Xscape in the super lounge last year and then on the main stage this year was the best experience ever, Mary J was amazing as expected and all the ladies that Queen Latifah had on stage was worth it but I didn't really care for her performance.

This year Essence Festival was definitely one for the books. Not one disappointment and the entertainment was the most epic.

Essence Fest 2018

The concert was amazing! Janet Jackson gave us a show. All the other performers were great as well. Had an awesome time. Can’t wait for next year.
