New York, NY
Originally from San Diego, California, Andie Mackenzie grew up listening to 80’s disco and ABBA. It wasn’t until she heard Christina Perri’s “Head or Heart” album that she ventured into the world of indie pop music, connecting with Perri’s piano ballads and intimate vocals. This was the spark that lit the fuse and Mackenzie began writing songs daily, and like many singer-songwriters- from her bedroom. While the subjects of her songs have changed over the years, the process of sitting down in front of a piano or guitar, taking out a pen and notebook, and pouring out what’s on her mind, remains the same.
After moving to NYC to pursue her artist dreams and attend college, Mackenzie began recording music with fellow classmate/producer Paul Luke Bonenfant. Since releasing her debut E.P. “Afterthought” in September 2023, Mackenzie continues to grow her listener base. She’s been a multi-year semi-finalist in songwriting competitions like ISC and American Songwriting Contest. She’s played live shows at famous NYC venues like SOB’s, The Bitter End, Groove and Rockwood, building a strong and supportive NYC audience. With influences ranging from Christina Perri and Sara Bareilles to Gracie Abrams and Joe P, Mackenzie continues to experiment with her sound as she continues creating new music, while also anticipating her fall 2024 debut album.
