Affion Crockett on Tour
Breaking through on shows like ‘Wild 'N Out' and ‘Def Comedy Jam,' comedian Affion Crockett developed a gregarious style on stage and became a memorable celebrity impersonator, to say the least. Crockett does a mean Russell Simmons, and a Chris Rock bit that's as spot-on for mimicking Rock's familiar voice as it is for his facial expressions. But nobody does Jay-Z like Affion Crockett; his HOVA mimicry even spawned a comedy rap album called ‘Watch the Clone,' which Crockett wrote, produced, and performed himself. It's a testament to his well-rounded talent, and although he no longer makes a living as a dancer, his style of comedy is nothing short of physical. As a regular cast member on four seasons of ‘Wild 'N Out,' Crockett learned to be quick on his feet, and it's a signature trait that he brings to his stand-up at comedy clubs nationwide.
Affion Crockett Background
Originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Affion Crockett's career in entertainment began as a dancer in the '90s, when he appeared on ‘Showtime at the Apollo.' Shy by nature and comfortable as a dancer, it wasn't until he saw comedian Kool Bubba Ice doing impressions on ‘Def Comedy Jam' that he wanted to take a crack at it too, and he soon found himself on stage at the Jamie Foxx-hosted show. Regular stints on ‘Def Comedy Jam' led to a journeyman career, then his many standout moments alongside Nick Cannon and a slew of promising young comedians on ‘Wild 'N Out.' In 2011, he reconnected with Foxx to produce his own show, ‘In the Flow with Affion Crockett.' He's appeared on ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm' with Larry David, ‘The Wedding Ringer' with Kevin Hart, and ‘Soul Men' with Bernie Mack and Samuel L. Jackson. The multitalented and flat-out hilarious Crockett has even done voice-overs for ‘Family Guy,' ‘The Boondocks,' and ‘Robot Chicken.' But hip-hop culture is at the core of everything he does, and he's always delivering fresh material as a stand-up comedian first and foremost.
