Not Very Good
I did not enjoy this concert at all. Very loud but no real music other than their hit songs. I alos have a hard time standing so when the people up front stand I can't see. Maybe there should b e a no standing section for older people.

Pretenders were good but.....
When I arrived at the venue there were signs everywhere saying cell phone use was prohibited. I understand this came from the Pretenders. Had I known this in advance, I would not have bought a ticket. I am a music fan that makes pics and videos for my own use. I don’t feel this is right for fans paying ridiculous ticket prices.

AWESOME!!
What a great show! She rocked The Palace with old hits and new material, The Rails guitarist added enough flair without taking away anything from the original music. I've been a Pretenders fan for ages and really glad I went to see her LIVE!!!

pretenders at the palace
BEAUTIFUL SHOW!! chrissie was in excellent voice. just wish i could,ve taken a few snaps, with my camera. i know some folks find the cell phoners annoying, but it's also a sure sign you are loved by your audience that they would like to relive your performance.

Pretenders never disappoint
Chrissie and Company were in fine form at The Palace Theater, mixing new songs with classics, as well as some deeper cuts. They played a solid hour and half, keeping up a dogged pace. Other than Chrissie's obsession with cell phones in the audience, she was smiling and appeared to be having as much fun as the audience most of the time.

Pretenders at the Palace in Louisville
The Pretenders came back to Louisville after ~40 years with a vengeance! Chrissie, original drummer Martin Chambers, and the gang (including the impressive James Walbourne on lead guitar) stormed the Palace and played a 2 hour show -- including 2 encores -- of straight-up, unpretentious rock and roll with a side of witty pop. Despite the crowd's age (old and older), there was an obvious feel of something special happening (maybe it was the lack of A/C in the facility - it was quite warm!), and Chrissie and the band fed off of that quite well. Interaction with the crowd was incredible, even though some upfront thought the "strict ban on use of cell phones, cameras, and recording devices" didn't apply to them. Chrissie enforced the ban with some aplomb, encouraging the crowd at one point to "call the babysitter, take your picture, whatever, then put it away!" There was apparently at least one patron whose phone was either seized, or whom the ushers directly admonished after that, but that didn't dampen the crowd's spirit. The song choices ranged from the first album (The Pretenders), through the band's modest '90s output, up to and including the most recent (Alone), and the band sounded great on every one. Of particular note were the tunes "Up the Neck," "Middle of the Road," and the closer, "Brass in Pocket," all of which were performed with a fierce, yet tender, approach, reflecting Chrissie's personality. As previously mentioned, the 4-star rating doesn't reflect the show or band, but the venue's apparent lack of air conditioning. All told, it should be 5-stars, but for the heat in the facility.

Pretenders Were Awesome!
The Pretenders were great! Chrissie Hynde was awesome! She is still in great voice and looking fantastic and is just very very cool. So glad I got to finally see them in concert!
The Pretenders in Concert
The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and pop music like no other band, with genre-defining songs like "I'll Stand By You," "Back On The Chain Gang" and "Don't Get Me Wrong." The band has sold over 25 million albums and founder & leader Chrissie Hynde is one of contemporary music's greatest songwriters. Chrissie's 2015 memoir Reckless: My Life As a Pretender, was hailed by the New York Times upon its release as "honest and distinctive... a love letter to rock and roll." After delivering 2016's unflinchingly head-strong Alone album (produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach), the Pretenders continue to tour worldwide.
The Pretenders on Tour
The Pretenders are set for an extensive North American tour in 2020 with Journey to feature all new production and hits from start to finish in the 60+ date tour. Fans can expect to hear iconic classics from The Pretenders and Journey.
